Abstract

340,163. Street &c. lamps and beacons. FISCHER, E., 52, Babelsbergerstrasse, Wilmersdorf, Berlin. Feb. 7, 1930, No. 4146. [Class 75 (iv).] A lamp for illuminating streets, halls, or the like, or for use as a beacon light for aircraft landing grounds, comprises a central convex or concave reflector 1 surrounded by one or more annular concave reflectors 6 adapted to receive a number of light sources, the radius of curvature of the annular reflectors being increased in the neighbourhood of adjacent reflectors, and the adjoining surfaces 5 of the reflectors being convex. The sources of light may comprise incandescent gas lights 3 or incandescent electric lights 4, and they may be separated from one another by partitions. The reflectors may be enamelled, or nickel or silver plated. In the form shown in Fig. 3, one set of annular reflectors 10, 11, 12 arranged concentrically in step formation is joined by a larger annular reflector 13 to a similar set of annular reflectors 14, 15, 16.
