Abstract
339,158. Sunrayn, Ltd., and Ward, S. J. Jan. 10, 1930. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Hoods for road vehicles motor launches, and the like of the kind having hoopsticks slidably mounted in grooves in the cant rails and maintained parallel and a flexible cover connected to a spring roller at the rear and to the front hoopstick are provided with hoopsticks which are maintained in parallelism by being attached to underlying frames or connected by spring jointed rods adapted to fold inwardly. The hoopsticks a, a<1>, a<2> are guided on the cant rails d by means of projections b and are each provided with frames h at different levels to keep the hoopsticks parallel and allow them to be brought close together when they are retracted. The cover e is secured to the front hoops tick a and is mounted at the rear to a spring roller f. In a modification the hoopsticks a, a<1>, a<2> are connected together by spring-hinged rods h<3> and the horizontal frames h are dispensed with. Rods p with friction shoes s are provided to lock the cover in any desired position. Drainage channel are provided. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 341,858, [Group XXXII].
