337,320. Cuffe, F. W. Feb. 17, 1930. Wire resistances, threaded and mounted on frames.-A heating element for an electric oven consists of a one-piece frame of sheet metal to which cross-bars for carrying the resistance wire are slidably secured so that they can expand on heating. The frame 2 is made with a turned-over edge, downwardly extending portions 9 and inwardly extending portions 10 carrying the cross-bars 19. These are made of two angle-irons placed back to back and shaped to hold insulating bushings 23 through which the resistance-wire 16 is threaded. The bars are secured by tongues 25 bent over their flanges so as to allow them to slide on expansion. The frame 2 is adapted to form a bracket 11 which supports a block of insulating material carrying floating terminals 7 to which the end of the wire 16 can be connected.
