Indicators actuated by pressure of head of liquid. - In a liquid-level indicator for boilers and the like, employing a U-tube manometer the two limbs of which are connected to the water and steam spaces of the boiler respectively so that a constant head of condensate in one limb is opposed by a varying head of boiler water in the other limb, each of the downwardly extending pipes is provided with a dirt separator. The two pipes b, c extend downwards by extensions n into cylinders l, and the manometer d extends upwards into the cylinders l by extensions o. Any dirt falling down the pipes b, c is collected in the cylinders and may be drawn off through openings p. The upper end of the pipe c is provided with a baffle r to deflect impurities from the steam into the pipe s, and the baffles t tend to deflect these impurities bach into the boiler.
