Fluid d - actuated valves ; thermallyactuated valves.-The expansion valve of a refrigerating system is actuated by the combined effects of temperature and pressure and comprises two valve members 8. 9 in series, actuated through a ball 11 and diaphragm 10 by a closed bellows member 7 containing vaporizable fluid influenced by the condition of the vapour returning to the compressor. The upper valve member is engaged by an adjustable spring 12.
