Abstract

334,375. Bauer, G. June 6, 1929, [Convention date]. Motor power plant; working-fluid supply.-In a plant comprising a reciprocating steam engine 1, and an exhaust steam turbine 2 which drives on to the working shaft 5 through gearing and a flexible coupling 10, live steam may be led to the turbine through a pipe 16 and an expansion chamber 15 when the reciprocating engine is shut down. The pipe 16 may lead into a larger pipe 14 which connects the reciprocating engine with the turbine. A silencer may be interposed in the pipe 16.
