Etching .-In a process for the production of flat positive printing-formes for offset printing, an impression from a. forme set up from letterpress matter or the like is made in greasy ink upon a thin zinc, aluminium, or other metal plate, which is then etched, and may be used either for offset printing direct, or as a master plate for making transfers for producing duplicate, plates. The types or other matter are backed with an elastic underlay to ensure an even print.
