Abstract

Channels and reservoirs in valves. - A plug cock is provided with narrow and relatively-deep lubrication channels b which are uniformly narrow throughout their full depth. The channels receive lubricant from annular grooves c in the casing d, the grooves c being stepped or interrupted at certain points so as to be out of communication with the channels b when the latter are exposed to the fluid passing through the valve. Lubricant is fed to the lower groove c through passages i from a reservoir f by a spring-pressed piston g. Specification 281,893 is referred to.
