Receiving-sets, construction of.-A radio coil unit comprises aerial, grid and reaction coils 4 - - 6 wound on a former 1 having closed ends and slotted longitudinal ribs 2, a number of wanderleads 7 - - 12 having spring clips being provided for connecting the unit to appropriate points on existing receivers which are then adapted for reception on wavelengths of from five to one hundred metres. The tuning controls of the receiver may or may not be utilized. The connection 9<1> enables unwanted turns of the grid coil to be short-circuited. In a further construction, Fig. 4, small condensers 13, 16 are combined with the coil unit and are provided with adjustments 22 so that the unit can be tuned independently of the controls on the receiver.
