Abstract
329,747. Voigt, P. G. A. H. March 20, 1929. Systems for transmitting music. - The amplification of a low frequency amplifier is controlled by the relative values of two or more condensers arranged to form a potentiometer type of input. In a modification the circuit is arranged to combine in pre-determined proportions energy from a number of sources. Fig. 2 shows condensers C, D arranged to control the amplification with resistances F, M, arranged to prevent noise due to direct current voltage across the variable condenser C. The condensers are preferably ganged and the plates may be shaped to obtain control according to any desired law. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) a number of inputs with a corresponding number of condensers C are employed to enable the inputs from a number of microphones to be mixed. Fig. 4 shows a system having two inputs A1, B1, A2, B2, and a condenser having three fixed plates C1, C2, D and a moving plate V adapted to permit either input to be " faded in " or the addition of the inputs in any desired proportions.
