Abstract

329,346. Schl÷tter, M. Feb. 16, 1029. Alloys, depositing.-A plating of a tin-lead alloy which may be easily soldered is deposited from a bath containing the 1.3 benzene di-sulphonates of tin and lead using a tin-lead anode. When a deposit of particularly low melting point is desired, cadmium salts may be added to the bath. A suitable bath contains 100 gms. each of lead and tin, 1.3 benzene di-sulphonates, 20 gms. cadmium perchlorate, 50 gms. para-benzene di-sulphonic acid, 5 gms. gelatine and 5 gms phenol to 1 litre of water.
