Abstract

328,950. Duple Bodies & Motors, Ltd., and Page, G. Feb. 7, 1929. Hoods.-In road vehicles of the kind in which a cover is adapted to close an aperture in the roof the cover is spread over a collapsable frame comprising a number of transverse bars or strips adapted to slide in and be supported by longitudinal guides in or on the cant rails. As shown the collapsable framework comprises strips a of plywood &c. hinged together the hinge pins extending beyond the sides of the framework and provided with rollers l engaging in channels m in the cant rails g. The framework is provided with a cover b and an inner lining c the sides of the cover being secured to the cant rails by studs d the lower flanges of which engage in channels e on the cant rails. The front strip a is hinged to a bar provided with a fastening o whereby it may be locked to the fixed front member q. The strips a may be apertured for the sake of lightness.
