328,820. Bailey, F. May 17, 1929. Expanding tables.-A folding table or dinner wagon has extension flaps, which in the horizontal position are flush with the table, and in the vertical position lie close up to the edge of the table and form side ledges. Figs. 1 and 3 show a dinner wagon with a frame 10, and a lower shelf 12. To enable the side flaps 13 to form ledges 14 for the top 11, as in the position shown, they are hinged to bars 16 slidably mounted in stirrups 27 on the underside of the top 11. Strips 19 are fitted along the longer sides of the top 11, and are raised by pivots 20 on the inner ends of the flaps 13. They are guided by slotted plates 24 and pins 22. The pin and slot devices may be fitted so as to be hidden by the strips 19.
