Abstract
286,326. Woodhouse, R. K. Oct. 5, 1926. Folding tables.-A table or like article consists of a frame 8 and base 7, within which is a top panel 6, of which one side is covered with baize or like material, and the other side is polished; the sides may be otherwise prepared for different purposes. Secured to the underside of the base 7 are projections 10, to which are hinged the legs 11. Beneath the top is a tray 15, which may be slid upwards on the legs 11 until it is nested under the top and on the parts 10, when the legs 11 may be folded, in sequence, under the tray. The tray normally rests on mountings 12 on the legs, pivoted catches 16 engaging with the lower edges of the parts 12 and preventing accidental displacement. In a modification, the underside of the tray is fitted with angle-brackets, which slide down over bolts fitted to the legs 11, and are secured by nuts. In another modification, the legs 11 are also hinged under the tray, and are kept rigid by rule-jointed stays.
