Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In a highspeed Diesel engine in which liquid fuel is injected into a pre-combustion chamber, the ratio of the volume of this chamber to the total clearance space lies between the ratios 1 - - 3.5 and 1 - - 4.5. The chamber comprises the differently shaped spaces I - - VI described in Specification 316,828, but the spaces II may be wholly or partly conical. Specification 322,474 also is referred to.
