Abstract
327,245. Alvis Car & Engineering Co., Ltd., and Clarke, G. T. Smith-. Feb. 19, 1929. Tanks.-A duplex cock or tap 2, 3, Fig. 7, is provided particularly for controlling the passage of fuel (petrol) on motor vehicles from a storage tank 1 having main and reserve portions, to a running tank 3, and from thence to a carburettor 4. The tap comprises two rotary disc-like parts 2, 5, Fig. 1, connected to operate in unison by the spindle 13. The part 5 has two separate ways 15 leading from the main and reserve supplying pipes 6 and 7, respectively, and a third way 14 leading to the running tank 3 with a through passage 19 in the rotary part 18 giving alternative connection between either way 15 and the way 14. The part 2 serves to connect the passage 10 leading to the carburettor with the passage 9 from the running tank 3 through the passages 11 in the rotary part 12, in either of the alternative connecting positions of the part 5. The tap can be turned to a position in which all the passages are closed.
