Abstract

Cables, arrangement and disposition of parts of.-In an electric cable impregnated with oil or semi-liquid insulating material, longitudinal ducts are provided within the cable to serve as reservoirs for the impregnating material. In the embodiment, the ducts, which are formed of metal tubes 1 having radial openings 2, are twisted together to form the core of the cable. Insulation 3 and a lead sheath 4 complete the cable. In modified constructions the ducts are adapted to form a lining under the lead sheath, or to provide a conducting layer within the insulation.
