Abstract

Roller apparatus. - A kneading-machine comprises a horizontal rotary table, a vertically adjustable kneading roll, and a blade mounted so as to be adjustable, about a vertical axis and shaped like a plow for turning the material over. The table 1, cooled by water sprayed on its under surface, is rotated by bevel and reducing gear from a main shaft 30, which also drives the kneading roll 3 through chain gearing 26, 24. The roll 3 is mounted on pivoted arms 20 and can be adjusted vertically by a screwed rod 18 operated by bevel gear from a hand-wheel 13. The blade 4 is pivoted to a vertical rod 5 and is furnished with a handle 4a by means of which it can be given angular adjustment.
