Processes.-Buttons, combs, and other transparent or semitransparent articles made by heating powdered material under pressure are decorated, in order to give the impression of veining extending right through the article, by applying the decorations in register to both sides of the powdered material prior to heating. A better effect is obtained by applying registering decorations to successive layers of the material in the mould. The decorations can be applied in liquid or powder form, preferably through a stencil. In order to enable the stencil to be applied closely to the layer of material in the mould, the mould is provided with a verticallyadjustable rim.
