Abstract

321,173. Fratini, U. May 1, 1928. Inlaid linoleum.-A process for making inlaid linoleum consists in applying to a comparatively thick layer of linoleum composition which may form the backing itself or may be applied to a canvas backing, a thin layer of similar linoleum composition consisting of areas of different colours arranged in a pattern, and compressing the whole. In carrying out the process, a thick layer of composition is applied to a jute or other fabric backing. A thin layer of granulated composition of one colour is then applied by means of a plain or cylindrical stencil device to form one part of the pattern, and the other colours are similarly applied until the whole area is covered. The material is then subjected to pressure in the usual manner.
