Abstract
358,229. Ornamenting. MAROTZ, O., 3, Trooststrasse, Mulheim, Ruhr, Germany. Sept. 10, 1930, No. 27020. [Class 93.] A process for decorating leather, wood, linoleum, and other materials consists in printing a negative of the design on paper with a colourless solution of wax or resin, transferring the wax &c. from the paper to the leather &c. by means of a hot iron or roller, applying a colouring material to the whole of the surface of the leather &c. so treated, and finally removing the wax &c. with its superposed colouring material. When decorating lacquered leather, a lacquer or varnish may be used as the colouring material and bronze powder or gold leaf may be afterwards applied and pressed in with a hot iron or roller. The process may be repeated for multicoloured work.
