Abstract

303,836. Werner, J., and Schlobach Ges., F. Jan. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Transferring designs.-A method of printing wood, in imitation of more valuable woods or of tarsia work, by means of transfers, consists in smoothing the surface of the wood by pressure and heat, providing it with a thin layer of zinc white &c. mixed with a siccative and diluted with turpentine &c., and applying the transfer thereto under great pressure but without heat. In applying the transfer, a polished metal or other plate is placed between the press and the transfer to level down any unevenness in the wood surface.
