Ornamenting. - In a process for applying a decorative coating to steel &c. sheets, the sheets are pickled in acid, the free acid is neutralized, and the sheets are washed and dried. The sheets are then passed between rollers, while feeding on to the sheets a plastic composition comprising wood flour, whiting, pigment, linseed oil, and drier. The roller next the composition is engraved in intaglio so a. to imprint a decorative design on the plastic material. The product is jmally stoved.
