Abstract

298,135. Oexmann, H. Oct. 3, 1927, [Convention date]. Moulding buttons; celluloid, horn, &c.-In the production of decorated pressed articles, such as buttons, from powdered masses, which may consist of albuminous substances, cellulose derivatives, or organic substances, such as horn, bone, ivory, or wood, colouring matter is applied to the surface of the powdered mass, before the pressing, in layers or in vein form, so as to produce a design on the articles. The colour is applied by squirting, painting, or otherwise, and may be in a dry, viscous, or liquid state, or pigment in powder form and liquid paint together may be used. The mass is then pressed and hardened.
