Abstract

Pots, boxes, or other hollow bodies are formed by shaping a transparent sheet of celluloid or the like printed with a design in imitation of the grain of rare wood, marble, or the like and covered with a coating of non-transparent varnish of a colour corresponding to the basic colour of the design, the printed surface being arranged on the inside of the article so that the design shows through the transparent sheet. The printing is preferably effected by the screen intaglio process with a plate prepared photo-mechanically. Specification 106,286, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], is referred to.
