Abstract

324,687. Steiner, H. Oct. 1, 1928. Cooling; draining.-Cooling fluid is admitted and discharged at one end of a hollow shaft of a rotary compressor and flows adjacent the shaft bearings to cool them from the inside. The fluid enters from a nozzle 15 into a tube 4 inserted in the shaft 3 and returns through the annular space 7 formed therebetween to a chamber having an exhaust pipe 9; a packing ring 16 in an annular recess 17 having a drain pipe 18 prevents leakage reaching the bearings.
