7768. Butt, A. H. Sept. 29. Rotary-tube pumps.-In a centrifugal pump of the rotary tube type, the impeller H' has curved channels H<2> communicating with the inlet pipe K, and chambers L', L<2> connected with the inlet by openings M', M<2> and with the outer ends of the channels by openings M<3>, M<4>. Adjustable running joints are made at F<1>, F<2> by screw plugs D<2>, N, and lubricating holes G', G<2> are provided. The shaft C runs in ball bearings B<1>, B<2>. The casing end wall A<2> is removable to facilitate inspection of the impeller.
