Fixed-abutment type of rotary pump having pairs of diametrically-opposite outwardly-sliding vanes, one pair being cut away at the centre to pass slots in the other pair. The rotor a is provided with axial extensions b, c which run on ball or roller bearings in the end-walls of the casing. Packing-rollers or balls may be fitted at the extremities of the vanes.
