Abstract

399,759. Rotary pumps ; stuffing- boxes. HOLDEN & BROOKE, Ltd. and JEFFERY, W. E., Sirius Works, West Gorton, Manchester. June 1, 1933, No. 15861. [Classes 110 (i) and 122 (v).] A zone in the stuffing-box associated with a rotary pump is exhausted by the action of the pump and the leakage fluid is conducted from the stuffing-box back to the pump. The stuffing-box is shown with packing rings 3 and two lantern rings 4, 5..The zone round the ring 4 is in communication with an ejector 7 connected in a byepass between the delivery and suction sides of the pump. A lubricator 10 is associated with the lantern ring 5.
