Abstract

706,979. Gear pump or motors. ELECTROHYDRAULICS, Ltd. Dec. 11, 1951 [Dec. 19, 1950], No. 30959/50. Class 110(2) Sealing plates 11, 12 are pressed towards the sides of gears 5, 4 by fluid under output pressure acting over areas 15, 16, the centres of pressures 8, 9 of which are in line with the centres of pressures inside the plates. In addition, springs may be used. This prevents tilting of the plates and undue wear of plates and gears. Ducts 13, 14 lead from the pump delivery to areas 15, 16. An end cover 19 is held in position by a locking ring 20. Sealing rings 17, 18 are located as shown. In a modified arrangement'the ducts 13,' 14 lead to areas in the end plate 19 and press circular-rubber-discs against the plates 11, 12.
