Abstract

324,368. Molins, W. E., Ruau, F. F., and Molins Machine Co., Ltd. Oct. 24, 1928. Cigarette-making machines. - In mechanism for affixing cork-tips, a web of paper 5 is fed over a gumming and engraving roller 6 and between guide rollers 11 - - 13, while a web of cork 1 is passed between rollers 2 and severed by knives 3, 4. The front edge of the cork web is engaged between rollers 12, 14 having corrugated surfaces 17, 18 and set so as to allow the material to slip until it is completely severed, after which it is pressed between the paper 5 and roller 12. The speeds of the webs 1, 5 are such that a double tip is fed and severed during the advancement of sufficient paper fur two cigarettes. Specifications 251,322, 263,964, and 268,019 are referred to.
