Strip-perforating machines ; justifying type.- Relates to means for enabling the justification fraction for a line to be applied to the character types, in machines such as that described in Specification 17199/08, by adding the transfer component of the space signal to the character signals, and disconnecting the transfer punch from the line-measuring mechanism. The rocking lever that connects the transfer punch to its units-stop is made in two parts, which are disconnected when the justification fraction is to be added to type bodies, and the part of the lever that is coupled with the punch is simultaneously connected with an operating-device, which is actuated at every type signal. The two parts B, B<1>, Fig. 5, of the rocking lever are normally coupled by a pin C, carried by a clock C', Fig. 2, which can slide on a frame C<2> attached to the part B<1> of the lever. The block C<1> is shifted, to connect or disconnect the two parts of the lever, by a pin E<3> on a hand-lever E. When the parts B, B<1> are disconnected, the block C<1> is simultaneously coupled with a lever D and moves it into the path of a bar A, which operates at each type signal, so that the transfer punch is operated therewith. The space-counting device is operated with each type signal by means of an arm B<2> connected with the part B' of the rocking lever.
