Coking processes.-In a process for the distillation of solid carbonaceous material of the kind described in the parent Specification, the activated coke, after dry-quenching in steam, is immersed in a solution or vapour that imparts smokelessness or kindling or light giving or odour producing properties or any combination of these. Suitable solutions are made from salts such as copper chloride, or pine or cedar oils.
