Abstract
321,035. Messier, G. L. R. J. Oct. 2, 1928. Pneumatic springs; dashpots.-Apparatus of the kind in which two pistons 6, 3 connected to the rod 5 are disposed on opposite sides of a fixed diaphragm 7 in a cylinder containing liquid and compressed air is modified as follows. The diaphragm 7 is formed with two apertures 14, 15, one or both of which is provided with a valve. The piston rod is provided with a channel 16 open at both ends through which liquid can pass during the movement of the pistons. The upper piston is provided with a rod 8 which abuts against the end of the cylinder when there is no pressure in the apparatus. An orifice 18 provided with a valve is formed in the lower end of the cylinder.
