Abstract

519,431. Fluid - pressure shock - absorbers. OLAER PATENT CO. Sept. 22, 1938. No. 27627. Convention date, Oct. 11, 1937. [Class 108 (iii)] In a shock-absorber or like device fluid from a cylinder 2 is forced by a piston 1 past a valve 3 into a chamber 7. The valve 3 is housed in a chamber 6 which is not connected to the chambers 2, 7 so that the load on the valve is substantially constant. The valve may also be loaded by a spring 5. The chambers 2, 7 may communicate with one another by an adjustable, or valve controlled or other bye-pass 8 through which the liquid returns to the chamber 2.
