Abstract

319,884. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Akt.-Ges., and Wille, E. Aug. 17, 1928. Armouring.-The sheathing of cables is made of an iron alloy containing an admixture of copper up to 0.3 per cent for the purpose of resisting corrosion. A coating of lead, aluminium, tin, &c. may be applied to the sheathing which may be further covered by alternate layers of fibrous material and an impregnating substance. One arangement is shown in Fig. 2 comprising two rubber insulated conductors a, rubber envelope b, sheathing c, earthing conductor d and alternate layers e, f of an impregnating substance and paper or other fibrous material.
