Abstract

Borehole apparatus. - In sampling subsoil by driving a pile tube containing a removable coretube, before withdrawal of the core the latter is hardened by the introduction of cement, freezing substances or other material. As shown, a pipe f passes between the core tube c and pile tube a to deliver hardening materials to apertures g. Coregripping means may also be provided, and may comprise bolts k connected to pistons l pulled rearwardly by springs m and adapted to be advanced by air or water supplied through tubes i.
