Convention date, Aug. 31, 1929. [Class 87 (ii).] A hollow core for moulding cement pipes consists of an impervious flexible hose a which is adapted to be inflated by water under pressure or compressed air, and has a rope c attached by which it may be stripped from the pipe b by turning it inside out. The water or air is maintained at a suitable pressure by a pump and gauge and after the cement has hardened the core is deflated and removed. The pipe is coated internally with tar by means of compressed air to render it watertight. In order to facilitate the casting of a further section a length of sheet-metal piping is embedded in the end of the completed section of the pipe with half its length projecting. This permits the core hose to be inflated without deforming the completed section. Pipes may be produced from 0À005 up to and over 1 00 metre in diameter.
