Abstract
361,203. Withdrawing piles. STERN, 0., 8, Schenkenstrasse, Vienna. Feb. 6, 1931, No. 3820. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1930. Addition to 24,1,114 and 300,948, [both in Class 68 (ii), Subaqueous buildings &c.]. [Class 68 (ii).] In a modification of the invention described in the parent Specification, the lifting-press is arranged at the upper end of the pile core. As shown in the Figure, the pile shoe 2 is loosely connected to the pile core 1, and is covered by a plate 3 secured by a bolt 4 forming a conical driving-point. A. tube 7 connects the shoe 2 to a piston 6 in a cylinder 5 at the top of the pile core 1, where it is secured by a removable cover 9. Pressure fluid supplied by a pipe 8 causes the pile core 1 to rise, leaving the shoe behind. Sleeves of various lengths may be inserted between the parts 5, 9 as the core rises.
