Abstract

318,524. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Frank, J. J.). Sept. 4, 1928, [Convention date]. Transformers.-In transformers having a threelegged core and adapted to be cooled by an air blast, the core laminations are arranged to form a ventilating duct 18 extending through the centre leg 10 carrying the windings 13, the sides of the duct being closed by the laminations forming the yokes. The core may be built-up of L-shaped laminations arranged as shown in Fig. 2, or of straight laminations as shown in Fig. 3. In each case, some laminations are reversed in relation to the others in order that the joints may be staggered.
