Securing toothed and chain wheels on shafts.- The final wheel of the gear-train between the handwheel A and the shaft C of the lower roller of a mangle or wringer, which may be a sprocket wheel B, Fig. 1, in the case of chain gearing, or a toothed gear wheel F, Fig. 3, in the case of toothed gearing, is loose on the shaft and is formed with apertures to receive corresponding lugs d<1>, Fig. 1, c', Fig. 3, projecting from clutch members D, c<2> keyed to the shaft. As shown in Fig. 3, the clutch member c' may be one of the pair of star wheels by which the upper roller is rotated.
