Abstract
387,431. Wringers. ELFORD, E. R., London Works, Priory Road, Aston, Birmingham. Oct. 27, 1931, No. 29734. [Class 138 (ii).] The handle f of a wringer is mounted on a shaft e on which is mounted at its other end a gear wheel h which can be engaged either with an internally toothed wheel r mounted on the spindle of the lower roller d or with an intermediate wheel p in gear with a wheel q also mounted on the spindle of the lower roller d. At one end the shaft e is mounted in a bearing g constructed so that the shaft can rock about this end, the other end support b being provided with a slot i. On a plate j attached to the support b is pivoted a lever k which carries the adjacent part of the shaft e. The other end of the lever k can be secured in such a position that the wheel h is in engagement with the wheel r or the wheel p by the engagement of a spring-pressed pin l with either of two holes o one at each end of a slot m- The pin l is held in the holes o by a nut.
