Abstract

317,256. Mason, J. Oct. 8, 1928. Foot-arch supports.-A sock, wad, or insole for use in a boot or shoe. to act as a foot-arch support, consists of a backing 3 of leather having secured thereto one or more thin layers 1 of crepe or other pure unvulcanized rubber provided on its underside with a thickened piece 2 of crepe rubber, built up from thin plies secured together. A number of lateral flaps 4 of crepe rubber also are provided, secured at their inner edges only so as to form pockets to receive a pad or pads of felt, wool, &c. or an absorbent body impregnated with glycerine &c. The flaps lie between the foot and the upper of the boot or shoe. Specification 212,336 is referred to.
