Abstract

316,892. Twin Coach Co., (Assignees of Fageol, F. R.). April 19, 1928, [Convention date]. Divided on 309,984, [Class 79 (iii), Motor vehicles, Arrangement &c of parts of]. Independent driving on opposite sides; wheeldriving attachments. - The engines 16, 17 are mounted in housings which rise above the floor level mid-way between the axles 4, 4a, and at the sides. The rear wheels are driven independently through change speed gears 25, shafts 27, and worm gearing. A final electric drive may be used, in which case a dynamo takes the place of the gear 25 and a motor and clutch are placed at the end of the shaft 27. Gear casings 7, Fig. 7, are bolted to the axles 4 and contain shafts 8 verticallv above the axles. The road wheels 9 are mounted on the shafts 8 and contain brake drums 37. Worms 29 on the shafts 27 drive worm wheels 32 on the shafts 8.
