Abstract
315,518. Markovitch, G. May 21, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Pilot jets.-The control valves 13 of a number of burners 12, arranged around a pilot jet 16, are each connected by a lever 36 and a link 35 with a lever 31 carrying a spring-pressed pawl 32 engaging a ratchet wheel 30 fixed upon an extension 21 of a valve 19 controlling the pilot jet so that, on opening one or more of the valves 13, the pilot flames are extended to ignite the corresponding burner or burners, and' the valve 19 is locked automatically in the full open position by rollers 23, carried by a bar 22 fixed upon an extension 20 of the valve, engaging in central notches in the inner edges of a pair of pivoted members 27 connected by springs 28. The wheel 30 is provided with two pairs of notches 33, the pawl 32 engaging one of a pair during the opening movement of the valve 19. By turning a valve 13 slightly backwards from the full open position to engage the pawl 32 in the adjacent notch 33 and then turning the valve again to the full open position the rollers 23 are released from the notches in the members 27, which are moved towards one another by the springs 28 and return the valve 19 to the normal position.
