Abstract

315,218. Junkers, H. July 9, 1928, [Convention date]. Securing propellers on shafts.-A screw propeller hub is constituted by a flange 2 integral with the engine shaft 1 and carrying conical drive studs 3 projecting into the blade roots 4. A hollow or solid bolt 5 is secured to the shaft and carries an end nut 6 which presses against a conical member 7 and forces an end plate 8 against the roots 4. The connection between the shaft 1 and extension 5 is locked by a cotter 9. Alternatively the extension 5 may be integral with the shaft 1.
