Screw propellers.-Metal airscrews of adjustable pitch have the hub formed with an annular web and a flange whereby the latter can be machined for attachment to standard flanged driving shafts. The hub is formed in two parts each having half sockets b for carrying the adjustable blades and adapted to be held by bolts k. The plate i of one part is connected bv an annular web to a flange c which can be machined to fit the flange d on the standard hub of the shaft e. A ring g of packing materiel is riveted to the flange c. A bridge piece n, carrying a starting socket o, is bolted to the other plate i.
