Abstract

253,169. Leitner, H. Feb. 12, 1925. Screw propellers.-Airscrews with hollow, detachable, and adjustable blades are provided at the root with a sleeve and liner having abutting shoulders whereby the securing rivets are in double shear under centrifugal force during rota,- tion. The sleeve b, Fig. 1, has a flanged end e which bears, up against a flange f on the liner c; rivets d securing the liner and sleeve to the root of the blade a. The liner bears up against the hub during rotation of the propeller. When the blade is screwed on to a spigot on the boss, the sleeve b has a screwed extension g, Fig. 2, and its flange f then contacts with the in-turned flange e of the liner c.
