Abstract

149,966. Reissner, H. Aug. 8, 1919, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Securing screw propellers &c. on shafts.-Ships' screws and similar parts of machinery are secured on shaft ends by securing the screw boss &c. 7 bv flange screws 11 and nuts 12 to a flanged sleeve 5 which is secured and centred on the shaft 1, in the form shown in Fig. 1, by wedge pins 6 and by screwing on a screwed part 4 of the shaft until it engages conical seatings 2, 3, or, in the form shown in Fig. 2, by keys 14 and a nut 15. The boss 7 is centred on the sleeve 5 by shoulders 9, 10 and on the shaft by a cylindrical shaft extension 8, Fig. 1, or by a conical split sleeve 16 tightened in the boss 7 by a nut 17 and engaging a cylindrical or conical shaft extension 8.
