Abstract

220,626. Kindstr÷m, A. Aug. 14, 1923, [Convention date]. Looking nuts.-Two nuts a, b, representing the extremities of a single nut divided by two planes c, d inclined at different angles to the axis of the nut, are employed. From the position of loose contact between the nuts, a rotation of less than 180‹ is required to spring the prominent point of the upper nut past the prominent point of the lower nut, Mechanical interlocking is thus effected without permanent deformation of the bolt stem. The corners of cne or both nuts may be bevelled. Specification 207,560 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the inclinations of the planes c, d can be chosen so that in the locked position there will be surface contact between the nuts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
